The workplace barometer reveals that HUS employees feel that they are looked after (3.55). The average working capacity has remained at about the same level for years (4.03), but the perceived work overload indicator has risen slightly. Workload is being monitored with a variety of tools, including the workplace barometer. In the year under review, there were 35 more units with a workload score of under 3 than in the previous year. Meanwhile, the workload score had improved in several units on the previous year.
Workload reported by employees came up in a variety of contexts in the year under review, and reducing and managing workload has been addressed in several ways, including job arrangements, shift planning, personnel optimization and review of fixed-term employment. Workload management tools used at HUS have been compiled into a toolkit. This toolkit has been promoted to managers, for instance through HR managers and occupational safety managers, and it has been presented at various training events and briefings.
